On August 6, the 15th GoldenBee International CSR Forum & the Launch Ceremony of "2020 GoldenBee CSR·China Honor Roll" took place in Beijing. Sennics launched the new action plan for "GoldenBee Global CSR 2030 Initiative" and released "SCI-MAN 2030" initiative for empowering the sustainable development of the polymer additive industry. This was part of Sennics' efforts to fulfill its positive CSR commitments, and join force with other enterprises to help realize the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The United Nations has drawn up 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), to coordinate major tasks in three areas such as economic growth, social development and environmental protection, and charter a new vision for global development. Sennics' "SCI-MAN 2030" initiative carries out actions based on these goals and will help realize the SDGs through innovation and responsibility. "SCI-MAN" is the abbreviation of "Science" and "Manufacture", and "SCI" is also the initials of "Smart", "Clean" and "Innovation". All together, they mean that Sennics, as a member of Sinochem International, will follow the philosophy of "In Science We Trust", and against the background of sustainable development, make intelligent manufacturing, green development, and technological innovation a new engine to for the company to improve the quality and efficiency of growth, and lead the sustainable development of the polymer additive industry.
According to the objectives of the initiative, Sennics promised to complete the automation transformation of all its factories by 2030 and create a "5G network" of chemical production; improve its Ecovadis auditing results to the gold medal level and join the Together for Sustainability (TfS) - initiative, and have each of its subsidiary company win at least one provincial and ministerial "green factory" honor; to spend no less than 3% of the revenue on R&D each year, and manufacture no less than 80% of products through recycling economy processes.
Sennics has also made three action plans to implement the "SCI-MAN 2030" initiative: In terms of intelligent manufacturing, Sennics strives to meet the "Smart Sennics" goal by continuously improving the digitalization and informatization level of its factories, driving the construction of smart chemical factories, and building the benchmark smart chemical factory in the fine chemical industry. In terms of clean manufacturing, Sennics endeavors to maintain the production goal of "zero accident, zero pollution and zero injury" by increasing investment in cleaner production, improving production and operation equipment, increasing energy and resource utilization efficiency, and realizing green and low-carbon circular development. In terms of innovative manufacturing, Sennics continuously increases product innovation and process innovation to main its leading edge in technology and to apply the concept of sustainability from R&D and process gradually to the whole product lifecycle.
Tang Zhimin, Vice President of Sennics, said at the forum when announcing Sennics' action plans that sustainable development has become a global consensus and an inevitable choice to stimulate technological innovation, accelerate green development and promote the high-quality development of chemical enterprises. Regarding intelligent manufacturing as the development direction, clean manufacturing as the development path, and innovative manufacturing as the driving force, Sennics will fully implement the "SCI-MAN 2030" initiative, so as to promote the formation of a community of stakeholders in the upstream and downstream sections of the industrial chain for a better future.
In addition, at the Launch Ceremony of "2020 GoldenBee CSR·China Honor Roll", Sennics made the list by virtue of its continuous efforts at innovation and outstanding performance in informatization and intelligent construction, and was awarded the title of "GoldenBee Enterprise (One-Star Rating)". The sustainable development case entitled "Digitalization Empowers Smart Factories" was included into the "2019 GoldenBee Responsible Competitiveness Best Practices".
