The British Standards Institution (BSI), an internationally recognized standards organization, hosted the 8th Annual Internet of Everything Smart Summit on June 20 in Shanghai, which also marked its 30th anniversary in China. At the event, Sennics received its carbon footprint verification per the ISO 14064-1 standard for the fourth time and also received the opinion statement verifying its product carbon footprint per the ISO 14067 standard from BSI. The company was granted the "Sustainable Development Award" at the same time, indicating that it remains an industry leader in driving green and low-carbon development.
Sennics is actively driving sustainable development in the chemical industry. Being recognized by an international standards organization indicates that its quantitative GHG auditing system and product carbon footprint management system have met the requirements of international standards. An official representing BSI in Greater China said when presenting the award: "Sennics' carbon management practice provides a valuable reference for the industry."
It's worth mentioning that this is the fourth time for Sennics to pass the audit for an organization's carbon footprint per the ISO 14064-1 standard, a demonstration of the company's ability to keep improving its carbon management. At the same time, receiving the first opinion statement verifying its product carbon footprint in an audit per the ISO 14067 standard has also validated its expertise in auditing the lifecycle carbon footprint of its products.
When it comes to sustainable development, Sennics has improved its environmental performance and operational efficiency simultaneously through measures such as technological innovation, process optimization, and the management of a green supply chain. Tang Zhimin, Vice President of Sennics and Director of the Sustainable Development Committee, said: "Those honors attest to the success of our ESG strategy. This year's forum, themed "AI-Powered Global Success", which took place offline, brought together nearly 500 experts from government, academic and business communities to offer systematic solutions for Chinese companies to seek ESG transformation, to come up with a global compliance strategy, and to build a digital trust system in the AI era. Sennics' case study provides a useful reference for the chemical industry to achieve the "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" goals.
